I want to write an app which integrates with a larger desktop app so need a palm app with a conduit to the pc which will also trigger the data changes to be absorbed into the larger system.

How much of this will orbworks help me with?

PocketC will help you with the handheld side of your venture, creating and handling the databases on the PDA.

The desktop part of the system will often be a standard database (MS Access, SQL-server etc.) and is not in any way handled by Orbworks products.

To synchronise the data on the two platforms, a conduit is necessary, which can't be made using PocketC either. A good conduit development kit is TurboSync from Tabdee Ltd. There is a fully functioning demo for download at their website.

There are no prerequisites (as far as other programs go) to installing and running PocketC, neither in its PDA version nor the desktop version.
