Removal of Built in Applications

Discuss topics that apply across the products, such as the PocketC language, or development in general

We have written a questionaire program in pocketC which will be used
in a Psychological Research program.

To prevent distracting the subjects with all the possibilities of the
Palm we would like to remove (or at least make invisible) the other built in applications.

Is there any easy way of doing this ?

As far as I know, there is no way of hiding the apps in the rom without using a launcher of some sort (I know the freeware version of launcher III can do this).

However, you can probably get by with just preventing users from exiting your app by trapping the "home" silk button events. You can enable this with the hooksilk() command or if you are using the PToolboxLib forms use the Fctl HOOKSILK command.

You can then either implement a secret app exit mechanism, or just do a soft reset to return control back to the launcher.

There's a program called Invisible ( That will allow you to hide any or all applications. Should Invisible itself be hidden, a soft reset and/or reinstallation of Invisible may be required to re-display the apps.

Hope that helps.
