Hello to friends old & new. It's holiday time so relax, put away that compiler and have a great time ( or if you don't celebrate Christmas get back to that difficult bug you were trying to solve )

For my part I have just passed 300 registrations with my little PocketC game Space Treker and I am knee deep in C++ classes in my embedded VC learning curve.

Happy Christmas once again

Space Treker V2.0 is graphically much better than V1 though still limited in it's animation & scale.

I think that although the game is not technically superior in any way to other games it has much more gameplay of the in-depth variety. I have had dozens of testimonials from users who are fed up with card games etc and they find Space Treker to be absorbing.

Personally I don't think 300 registrations out of about 10,000 downloads is not over the top.

Here are the most obvious things that come to mind:-
1. Installation program. This is quite easy to do and free though you need W2k or NT for part of the job if you use EZSetup. CuteInstall is another possibility.
There's an article in my documentation section at
2. Registration method. Either 2 versions, demo and full or a registration process that writes a code to the registry & checks against this.
3. Shareware Distribution. and will give you huge coverage and there are quite a few other shareware sites as well. You upload your setup program ( as a zip file? ) to these sites with a description. It's best to include PocketC runtime as people get confused if you don't
4. Method of purchase. and offer electronic stores with credit card facilities. They take 20% of the purchase price. You can use where you don't pay commission but this takes longer and you can also sell directly on sites like but they take more than 20%.

Did you use GAPI for the graphic routines? Ian?
I would be interested in that area, since it will allow fastest graphic.
