Button Auto-Resize Question

A PocketC native palm library offering native forms and assorted utilities

Postby Dave F on Wed Dec 12, 2001 4:06 pm

I have a program which changes the Button text during execution. It is my understanding that the button size should not change for a type 0 Button...but it does.

The code would look sometrhing like this:

Button(1001,0,20,20,22,11,"Test");
.
.
.
FsetText(1001,"A");

The Button resizes itself for the new text.

It can be overcome by following the FsetText call with

FresizeObj(1001,22,11);

but that just adds code which I thought was unnecessary.

Am I doing something wrong?

Currently, all buttons resize to fit all the text when FsetText is used. Using FresizeObj is the best option to fix this.

In the upcoming v7.2.0 release, I've implemented a new Fctl command which allows the button auto-resizing to be disabled.
