Using PAR'ed resources

A PocketC native palm library offering native forms and assorted utilities

I was just wondering.. I still open and close databases/resources the same way after PAR as before? With the same commands, I assume. The db's/resources don't have to be opened a different way do they?

If you've par'ed all the stuff that was in your "resource database" into your application .prc, you no longer should call OpenRsrcDb to open the resource database. All the resources will be automagically found.

If you have a bitmap or font database which you par'ed in to app's .prc, you should still use the Open* calls, but make the database name be your app's name instead.

Basically it works like this: when a resource is being called up (form, menu, etc) the PalmOS calls I used will first check the app's .prc file for the resource, failing that, it will when search all the open databases (ones opened with OpenBmpDb, OpenFontDB, or OpenRsrcDb) for the resource.
