Hi, Joe.

I'd like to print a hard copy of the documentation for PToolbox. I tried using the htm docs but they do not resolve to a format that can be efficiently printed without extensive manual reformatting.

Do you have the docs in Word format, and could you make them available?

Thanks.

Sorry, the only format I have is html. Have you tried just printing the body.html file by itself?

You can import html into word (or least save html to doc format from word), but I don't know what that would do to the formating. I would suggest trying this on the body.html file.

I did import it into Word, Joe, but would've had to resize all the tables. For some reason, they all had problems with the right hand margin. Maybe something I did wrong.

Thanks, Samps! The pdf you've got will do fine for me.

Thanks again, guys :)

Thanks Samps! Man Acrobat rocks.

Star-Dot-Star: I'll peek around a bit and see if I can figure out why the tables are get screwy during conversion.

<font face="Andale Mono">Ok, I downloaded samps' pdf file. Using Acrobat Reader version 5.0.5 9/24/01, The following tables truncated at the right hand margins (both displayed in the reader and printed):

Pages.......Title
----------------------------------------------------
10..........SetDepth depth definitions
12-13.......Resource verses Dynamic Form Comparision
25-32.......Fctl Commands
42-43.......Dynamic Field Types
56..........Lines Mode
58..........Plot Modes
78-80.......GetSysPref Types
92..........Compression Mode
93-94.......Note Command Format
98..........Sony Function Modes

All other tables display & print correctly. I've found no truncation problems with the text or program code listings.

My PC's OS is 98 (non-SE)

Hope that helps.</font id="Andale Mono">

Second go.

The problem with the tables is down to them being of a fixed with. Browsers react to tables that are bigger than the browser vindow by supplying a set of scrollbars to navigate the bigger tables, not so Acrobats.

I've changed all table widths in ptbody.htm, that were greater than 300 pixels, to 100% and made a new pdf.

Changed the name a little, cos I was left hanging in my proxy...

Here's a goodie.

PToolbox Doc in Plucker portable format.

A must have for the true roadcoder, with clickable index and back/forward functionality.

Get the doc from here:

http://www.redjocks.com/PToolbox_Doc.PDB

and the Plucker reader for free from http://www.plkr.org

Kudos Samps! There is a new version of Plucker which supposedly handles tables, I haven't tried it yet.

I'll remedy the table issue in PToolbox body.html file. I didn't quite know what to look for with regards to table formatting... now I do, thanks!
