I have a handspring Visor which I'm trying to communicate to with a serial ic using PocketUtilLib to redirect the serial info.
I have a ic chip outputing "1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0" which I confirmed using my PC com port. My visor gets something like "191 189 187 187 183 181 183 183 183".
I filtered out a 237 and 235 which is transmitted after each of the numbers.
I have tryed diferent com port speeds but just get the some.
I have been able to send data from my visior with little problem.
Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do for this?

Try experimenting with the "settings" field in the seropen function. I'd probably try modifying the stop and parity settings first. Also, try cutting the baud rate of your system down to 9600 bps or so.

This flavor of IR is very low level, the data transfer is not guaranteed (the data is not packetized with a checksum & there is no automatic re-try protocol). Also, bright lighting can corrupt the IR transfers.

BTW: You've posted to the "Palm OS Software" newsreel which doesn't get read much. Try reposting to the "Palm OS Development" newreel.
