Hi:
Does anybody here have any ideas on how to search a database fast (say contacts for all LastNames starting with "D"). I know how to access single records in the database, what I am wondering is whether there is a faster way then looping through each record, reading and comparing which is what I am doing right now.
Thanks for any leads...

Try using moverec().

moverec as I understand it just changes the position of a record. How do you envision this being used to find all records, e.g. whose entry "LastName" starts with "Dan"?

I emailed Jeremy about adding support for the Global find in PalmOS, we'll see how it turns out, maybe we'll see it in OrbForms 2.0 :-D

that would be great - if it was accessible from Orbworks directly meaning you could access it in the background without a dialog, and do custom stuff with the find results...
