Database Identification

Hi,

Let's say I want to create two different types of databases. What is a good way to identify the type of database it is without cracking open the DB? Does anyone have a good way of doing this?

Your help is most appreciated.

- You could add an extension to the database name when you create it. So if it's type "a" as opposed to "b" append a ".a" to the end; append a ".b" for the other.

- Or you could specify a different string for each in the database type field when you create it, for example "datA" or "datB". If a database exists up when you search for it by name and type you know it's of that type.
