Dynamically created form elements

Discuss OrbForms Designer and PocketC Architect

Hi,

I would like to dynamically create form elements...is this possible? Also, I'd like to be able to detect clicks on labels, but there doesn't seem to be a way to do it. I could use buttons, but labels would be cooler.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

You cannot dynamically create UI elements. If all you want is a clickable label, you can create a button with no border.

I'm trying to dynamically create text elements that are click-and-draggable...I suppose I could forego using UI elements altogether and just draw everything myself, right?

Yes, you could do that. It's more work, but would have a nice result!

I did in fact get it working. This was my first OrbForms project, and I'm well impressed. The language seems very robust. I created a "Magnetic Poetry" application in about an hour, once I knew what I was doing. The gadget encompasses word creation, click-and-drag, and has public interfaces for randomizing words outside the stage area. I did not double-buffer for the drag operation, but it still looks ok.

It *would* be nice to be able to dynamically allocate UI objects. But I am not complaining at all. I'm just glad I returned CodeWarrior. :-)
