By limitations, I take it you mean the infamous 4kb memo size limit.

There are a couple of alternatives available. One that springs to mind is PEdit by Paul Nevai. It is packed with all sorts of useful features and comes in a couple of different forms. The one I'm thinking of is PEdit32 which has a 32kb memo size limit. Personally, I've tried getting into PEdit several times and have just given up. I find it too fiddly - with too many features - and prefer the simplicity of MemoPad despite the 4kb limit. This doesn't worry me anyway, as I only ever use it to test code snippets when I'm away from my PC. However, if I remember correctly the 4kb limit of MemoPad will become a thing of the past with the release of PalmOS 6 (or Palm Cobalt).

Hope that helps,

Mikael

Hi,

Regarding the 4kb memo size limit, you can use
"Memosplit" (http://www.tiny-red-book.com/memosplit.html)
as a workaround.

Best wishes,

Lars

My favourite editor is Piaf (recursive acronym for "Piaf is almost Fozzy") from http://ppcompiler.free.fr/articles.php?lng=en&pg=127

A highres editor with syntax highlighting for PalmPascal but alows you to write in any language.

cheers
Samps

I have a T|T3 and a T|E and whenever I use memos over 4KB the PocketC compiler does ONLY read the first 4KB. I'm using the latest version.
Use a PalmDoc editor - sied is good and let's you have two documents open at the same time. If you use FontHackV you can set a small hi-res font. Sied and FonHackV are both freeware.
You can also use OnboardC's editor - SrcEdit - that's like Piaf, but has a function list and highlights C code. This is very nice for PocketC :)

Well, I'm new, but I have already decided my preferences.
<ul>
<li>I have <b>EditC </b>as my 4k memopad editor. I allows for editing the memopad database and adds the ability to add PocketC commands from a drop down list. I really like the ability to highlight some PocketC code and goto "reference" for a quick hint on how to use it. This has made PocketC really easy to use for me.</li>
<li>I am using <b>QED </b>as my 32k+ editor. The only limit is the size of the available memory. It doesn't have as many options as PEdit, but the footprint is so incredibly small (only <font color="red">37k</font id="red"> compared to the huge <font color="red">486k</font id="red"> of PEdit). QED also has the option to compress files on the fly (handy) and a fast search and replace function. </li>
<li>I also am using <b>MemoPad Plus </b>as my default memo editor. I looks great with color/hi res, and has the ability to draw quick graphical sketches along with basic text memos. The drawing option is handy if you have a quick idea for a program.</li>
</ul>
I used to program with Hotpaw Basic, but got fed up with the limitiations imposed with the programming as well as the missing debug option. I love it that PocketC will tell you the line number, error, or whatever it is you did wrong. This is also invaluable for a newbie.
