I know the answer is probably staring me in the face but ...
Is there any way of telling programatically if the app is running on the emulator or on hardware?:?:

One function which springs to mind is this:

<b>getsysval</b>(int index) - gets a system value. Currently supported values: [0] Username, [1] OS Version, [2] OS Version string, [3] Serial number, [4] ticks per second.

at least option [0], perhaps. It may work. I haven't tried it so I don't know what it would return.

The getsysval(0) not always function in the emulator (yes, you get the username) because in the emulator you can change the hotsync name.
