I don't understand where this message is occuring or how to debug it on my palmtop. Any clues?

Well it sounds like a pointer problem. You need to isolate where it happens so that you have a better idea of where the problem is. Start putting visual cues or breakpoints in the code to see how far your code progresses.

My guess on the error message is that a pointer was freed and then used, or some pointer math went awry.
