<font color="navy"><font size="3"><font size="2"><font face="Arial">Hi,
I have been developing graphics applications in pocketc CE version 3.0. I am unable to find any help or 3rd party libraries or code for saving screen images as JPEG files. Talk about mobility concepts and all we have is the age old bitmap. Wish we could save screen areas into jpeg files similar to the CaptureBMP function. This could make web based oprations more seamless.

Another typical problem :
I have the desktop version as well as Ipaq CE version of pocketc 3.0. The capturebmp function compiles well on the desktop compiler while it does not on the CE version. I downloadedthe latest version of pocketc for the ipaq and reinstalled , same problem.

Any suggestions, any sites that could help, commercial/non-commercial</font id="Arial"></font id="size2"></font id="size3"></font id="navy">

I don't know about JPEG, I think you have to write it manually by writebyte() etc.

I think you cant use CaptureBMP() in CE device is because you have outdated default.dat.
I forgot how to update it. I think you can get it from this website.

If the program compiles on the desktop and not the device, then simply copy the default.dat from the desktop compiler directory into the device pceditor directory.

If you don't want to do that then you can download default.dat from:

default.dat is the header file for the standard PocketC library, it declares the functions in #export directives. Each time you update your copy of the PocketC runtime you should update your copy of default.dat so that you can compile code that uses any new functions that have been added to the library.

If you want to read and write JPEG files you can use the free code available from the Independent JPEG Group at:
