Just let me know....
Testers get a release copy when avaliable..

I only have an iPaq and an E11 PPC.
Happy to test on the iPaq. The only PocketPC issue is the top menu bar & this goes away with menu_off()

POP 2000 review.

POP 2000 is a good game, and really funny. The bitmaps are beautifull the idea is good.
But i think there are 3 major problems in this game:

1: The detection of the bubbles that must pop:
in this image, you can see that the gray bubbles should have popped (?!)

<img src="http://www.multimania.com/justinespinosa/misc/pop2000good.jpg" border=0>

2: You Should store your data in the app with #resource. because, if the user install your program in the storage card (this is possible with ceappmgr) the data will not be stored where you want and this will result:

<img src="http://www.multimania.com/justinespinosa/misc/pop2000stocard.jpg" border=0>

3: The bug you know, it doesen't quit. Try to call quit() twice..

Thanks for the input, I've had a look for #resource ??? command and can't find any doco.... ???,
where would I get that ?
I'm aware of the problem. I had a user email me about it yesterday actually. You said that the gray bubbles should have popped... why ? what system did you chek it on? (I'm still unsure of the timing on faster systems)

-thanks again brendan

There is no documentation about #resource. But it is easy to use:

call #resource [id] [valid path]

the compiler will save the file specified by [valid path] into the app and than extract it in the "\temp" directory. To obtain the full path of the extracted file, call loadres([id])

I think you have done something inpropper in your program. No one of my programs do that bug, but yours do it always. And it's nor the shell that comes back. Try to build a small app with just putsl("hello"); and quit(); to see if it works.

Justin forgot something...
The #resource files won't extract if you don't use loadres();
example:

<pre id=code><font face=courier size=2 id=code>
#resource 120 "img.bmp"

main() {
string path_to_bmp;
path_to_bmp = loadres(120);
}
</font id=code></pre id=code>

Yep, All fixed with the #resource thingy....whew.. that was a bit of code rewriting (I think I've trippled my variables and program complexity)... mmm comming back to the quit(); err problem... any more ideas ?
or game improvments ?

I've also noticed that the shell does not always cleanup the temp folder correctly, leaving the .tmp files still there ? (bug?)

I don't wan't to make the shareware version too good but (I want people to pay for something in the full version).

The temp directory is never cleared, I think. That's something you must do yourself. If you create a stringlistarray and save each path you get with loadres in this array, you can wipe out the whole list with the filedelete when you quit the app.

<pre id=code><font face=courier size=2 id=code>
#resource 100 "..."
...
#resource 120 "..."
string Reslist [20]

LoadAllRes () {
int i;
for (i=0;i<20;i++) Reslist[i]=loadres(100+i);
}
UnLoadRes () {
int i;
for (i=20;i<20;i++) DeleteFile(Reslist[i]);
}
</font id=code></pre id=code>
