Is there a good reference book for programming in Pocket C under Windows CE? I have a Jornada 680.

There's a PocketPC on Palm OS reference book, but not one for Windows CE.

I recommend a good C reference book (the Kernighan and Ritchie white C book is a good one: ISBN 0-13-110362-8, Prentice Hall), along with a read of the PocketC documentation at:

This has a language description and documentation on the library functions.

For programming on C/C++ programming on Windows CE in general, refer to the Microsoft documentation at: ... estart.asp

Many of the PocketC library functions are simplified "wrappers" around the real Windows CE API function. You can find out more about the PocketC function by reading the real function docs. For example:

createctrl() -> CreateWindowEx()
sendmsg() -> SendMessage()
MessageBox() -> MessageBox() (but with different parameters)
rect() -> Rectangle()
circle() -> Ellipse() (with both axes the same)
ellipse() -> Ellipse()
menupopex() -> TrackPopupMenu()
delgui() -> DestroyWindow()

Others are implementations of the standard C library functions (for instance the maths functions).

The string functions in PocketC differ from the standard library string functions because PocketC has a real string data type, whereas C doesn't.
