I have a Compac Pocket PC 2002 (Ipaq Model 3760).

I want to develop a Visual Basic application to send and recive information between PC and Ipaq. I connect Ipaq to my PC using a USB port. But I don't know how may I implement this kind of communication.

Any idea?

I've develop some application in Visual Basic 6.0 using MSComm control to do serie communication. But this control is useless with USB port.
Does anybody know how can I do it?
Do you have some code sample or do you know if exists any activex to use with USB port?

Any comment would be appreciated.

Use RAPI, not Serial Control.
But I am not sure RAPI can be used from Visual Basic.

You will need to develop application for the device too.
Use Embedded Visual Tools 3.0 (Free) or PocketC (You'll need to create plugin yourself.

Please post non PocketC development questions on the board below.

RAPI can be used from Visual Basic, I have an example sat around somewhere which will let you display the files on your Pocket PC and copy them from the device or the PC.

Yes, but RAPI uses ActiveSync.

I don't want to depend on ActiveSync because I am using PC as simulation of a machine.
I need Pocket Pc to obtain information from one specific machine, but I use PC to simulate the protocol used by this machine and send the information to Pocket Pc. I don't have the machine and I have to use PC like this machine.
It's for this reason that I can't relay on RAPI and ActiveSync, because this machine won't have ActiveSync installed.

Do you know any other way to send/receive information to/from Pocket Pc?

Thanks a lot!

I think USB connection is not possible if you don't use RAPI.

You can get a CF Network card and do a TCP/IP connection, or you can use Comm control for serial connection.
