Event Handling

hi, i dont understand how event handling works, could someone point me to a tutorial or explain a little. For example, i want to be able to know when the left and right directional buttons are being pressed, how would i go about progamming something like this???

You will find some good documentation on
The "Menu Magic" doc has an example of event trapping for a menu but the basic idea is the same. Also check the pocket c help file under Function Library - Event.

Use event() or waitp() to trap an event and menu(), guiid(), or key()to get further information about the event.

ok, ty for the help, but im still having difficulties. How do i catch events like pressing buttons like the app buttons or the direction pad. (btw, i'm doing this on a DELL AXIM 300mhz, if its important) I tried setting up a test program and it doesnt seem to catch pressing buttons, only mouse move and mouse down.
