This function does not appear to be working on my PocketPC. It works on my PPC.

Is this a known issue? or is there another way to do this on a PocketPC?

Hi Brian, the menu_off() function is working on my iPaq using PocketC Version 2 compiler & V 3 runtime.
Which PocketPC & which compiler version are you using, ie: desktop edition, device edition etc?

I am using v2 of the device compiler, and v3 of the runtime on my HP Jornada 540.

<img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>if you are using the runtime that came with the desktop compiler for the hpjornada it will not hide or let you change the menu items try downloading the newest version of the runtime and see if that works that's what I had to do.

<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle> The Main Window has the gui id 1, if you delete it with delgui(1), the MenuBar will be killed, but the Main Window will stay "alive", but be carfull <img src=icon_smile_evil.gif border=0 align=middle> with delgui(), i have wrote a program that uses this command a lot of times, it kills every tasks, every icons on the system tray and crashs the system ?!?<img src=icon_smile_dead.gif border=0 align=middle>

I tried the delgui(1);, and it has the same effect asmenu_off(); it locks up my app.

I even redownloaded the 3.0 runtime for PocketPC and installed it in the event that when I did this last time it didn't install correctly.

I am using an HP Jornada 540 if that makes any difference.

delgui deletes the Menubar?
Shouldn't it be possible in that case to create a menubar with createctrl()?

I don't know i you can create a menubar with createctrl. I know that you can create a command bar with the "ToolbarWindow32" as strCtrl parameter. But it seams you can't use it with pocketC, just create it.

I am still regreting for making those delallgui APIs.
It appears to be useful for lazy people who don't want to maintain the list of windhow
handles. However, misuse the function could bring deadly result to your application.

1. menuoff is not working is most likly because your program doesnot have an event loop.
try to have an event loop, and try menu off.
