For those who have been programming, what do you think? Is the pocketc language more powerful that Visual Basic/ NSBasic? I need to know if I should purchase PocketC. Thanks so much, your comments will REALLY HELP!

I can't say - but what do you intend to develop? And for what system.

Take a look and the PocketC Library function documentation.

Serial port operations seems to be tricky - but I haven't worked very much with it. You have full file access (as far as I have tried - I have just written a BMP reader (thanks to Justin)). The drawing routines could be better - a Double buffer is missing.

But all in all, I am very content about PocketC. More than with VC++ for CE(that I also have).

would you say it is faster than Visual Basic? Is a lot of code transferable from PocketC to VC++?

PocketC & NSBasic have about the same capabilities & speed though NSBasic shares syntax with VB which makes those 2 easier to go between.

As far as transferring code between embedded VC++ and PocketC it's not really that easy. Some concepts are similar but PocketC wraps up a lot of complexity to make CE programming easy.

If you are a beginner to programming I suggest that you try PocketC as you can really get into programming quickly and overall the support when you take users into account ( in my opinion ) is better than NSBasic & VC++ / VB.

If you want to be able to do anything without restriction you have to go to VC++ however.
