Database & .prc?

Postby mattmccarthy on Fri Feb 01, 2002 5:08 pm

So far, I have benefitted from an Australian (G'day!) and a Canadian (Go Team Canada Hockey!)...sweet!

When I make my .prc file in PDE, it only consists of the application. My database has to be resident on my PDA for the application to work. This makes 2 files that have to be resident on the PDA. Question: Can the .prc file include the database as well so when I distribute my application, I will only be distributing one file?

I can't wait to see which nationality answers next!

My solution would be to use dbopen() to tell whether the DB exists or not. If it doesn't exist I would make it using some code in the main applet/prc. This would probably only work if the databse was made with PocketC in the first place, so bitmap databases/resources won't work in this solution.
