Pilrc ID numbers (contd.)

Postby Mikael on Tue Sep 09, 2003 7:33 am

I was under the impression that apart from the menu functions, only numbers below 3000 were reserved by PalmOS, (perhaps I misread the Pilrc docs) and as such I've started from 3000+, hence my problem. Is it then OK for me to use numbers in the range of 0-3000? It would mean alot of redoing, but would definitely solve my problem.

Thanks in advance,

Mikael.

PocketC has it's own resources forms, menus, alerts, etc. In order to prevent users from accidentally using them I imposed a resource ID minimum of 3000 for the PToolbox forms. This is not a palmOS restriction, but a PToolbox one.

Objects within forms have a restriction of 256 or higher so as to prevent clashes with "grouped" buttons which shared a common group number in that range. See the FgetState() docs for more information.
