Why am I seemingly unable to get a newline with \n in my string resource. I'm following the format given in the Pilrc docs and my resource looks as follows:

STRING ID 5000 "This is a very long string, \n" \
"which needs a break here"
STRING ID 5001 ".........."

The thing I find strange is that I don't have the same problem with labels. I've even tried using 'r' instead-to no avail.
Is there something I'm missing?

thanks in advance,

Mikael

Have you tried not breaking up the string. For example:

STRING ID 5000 "This is a very long string, \nwhich needs a break here"

This has worked for me with PilRC v2.7. I haven't tried it yet for v3.0

I highly recommend using v3.0 as it supports high-resolution bitmaps and has better frame control on the buttons. You can get it here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/pilrc/
